My Wanderer’s Heart
“I give my wanderer’s heart to the Earth
Blanket me with woodland moss
Let my feet rejoice in ancient songs singing underfoot
Held in this endless stream of forest breath
I am but one more receptor of the living Earth
Standing with the living prayers of Pine and Cedar and green wild things,
Breathing in I inhabit the forest
Breathing out I am song weaving through the woodland floor
Love is rooted, love is strong
Here may I live and be awhile
And remember my ancient moss woman’s song”
